About Loovay
What Loovay is
Loovay is a cold process soap brand based in Ottawa, Canada. Every bar is made from scratch — oils measured, lye calculated, poured by hand on a Tuesday evening.
We run three recipes per drop, thirty bars each. When they're done curing — six weeks after pour — they ship. That's the whole model.
What cold process means
Cold process soap uses a chemical reaction between oils and lye to create soap. No heat is applied during the process. The result is a bar that retains its natural glycerin — the part that makes skin feel good after washing.
The cure time exists because freshly poured soap is too alkaline to use. Six weeks of curing brings the pH down to skin-safe levels and hardens the bar so it lasts longer.
What goes in every bar
Every Loovay bar starts with the same base: olive oil, coconut oil, castor oil. Palm-free. 5% superfat — a small amount of unreacted oil left in the bar that keeps it gentle. Full INCI ingredient list on every label.
Made in Ottawa
Loovay is a one-person operation. Every bar is poured, cut, cured, and shipped by the same person who developed the formula. There's no warehouse. There's a studio in Ottawa and a cure rack that holds ninety bars at a time.
