Handcrafted in Ottawa, Canada · Cold process soap · Natural botanical color · Real essential oils · No synthetic fragrance · No SLS · No parabens · 90g bar
This is a pre-order. Bars are poured Tuesday Nov 11, cured for 6 weeks, and shipped the week of Dec 23.
Crimson Thread is true rose-red — madder lye method gives cleanest red shift. Coloured with 8.7g (1% of oil weight). Scented with Rose Otto, Black Currant Bud Absolute, Geranium Bourbon — not a fragrance blend, actual essential oils chosen for scent and skin function. The oil base is olive, coconut, shea butter, mango butter, and castor oil — a formula that conditions while it cleans, retains all the glycerin, and produces a lather that doesn't strip. Cold process. Hand-poured in Ottawa. 6-week cure before it ships.
EXPERIENCE THE FEEL
This bar has presence. The red is deep and earthy — not the soft blush of diluted pigment but the full-concentration brick you get from madder root taken seriously. Clove and cardamom open with warmth; cedarwood runs throughout as a dry, woody backbone. Rose otto appears quietly underneath and keeps it from going purely spicy. The lather is generous. This is the bar you reach for when you want your shower to feel like an event rather than a task.

COMMON QUESTIONS FROM OUR CUSTOMERS
Q: Does this bar really contain glycerin?
A: Yes. Cold process soap always retains its glycerin unless it is removed by the manufacturer. Commercial soap removes glycerin because it is a valuable ingredient in cosmetics and lotions. Natural cold process soap keeps it in the bar. The glycerin is what makes the lather feel conditioning rather than stripping.
Q: How does it lather and condition at the same time?
A: The lather comes from lauric and myristic acids in the coconut oil. The conditioning comes from the oleic acid in olive oil and the emollient properties of shea and mango butters. Castor oil adds ricinoleic acid, which is humectant and boosts lather from other oils. The formula is designed to do both.
Q: What gives it that colour?
A: Rosé Bloom is coloured with 8.7g (1% of oil weight). Plant pigments in cold process can shift color during cure — this is normal and expected. The finished colour is the result of the pigment interacting with the saponification environment. No two batches are identical.
Q: What's the scent?
A: Rosé Bloom is scented with Rose Geranium, Jasmine Absolute, Litsea Cubeba, Frankincense. These are real essential oils — steam-distilled or CO2-extracted botanical extracts, not fragrance oils or synthetic compounds. They are used at concentrations within IFRA rinse-off guidelines. There is no synthetic fragrance in this bar.
Q: How long does the bar last?
A: A 100g bar used daily lasts approximately 4-6 weeks with a well-draining soap dish. Sitting in water dramatically shortens bar life. The 6-week cure before shipping hardens the bar, which extends its use life
